There will be a HOA meeting on Tuesday, April 3, 7:00pm for the sole purpose of electing two board members.
Light Outage and Missing Street Sign

The light on the dam has been reported as out and will be repaired by Duke Energy. The missing street sign on the corner of St Augustine and Tifton Dr. E has been reported to DOT and will eventually be replaced.
Where We Are with WCFIBER Coming to Centre Court

We recently put out a survey to see if there was enough interest in Fiber Internet for our neighborhood. The survey had 65 people participate and that was enough for us to move onto the next phase of this process. The contract portion has been reduced to one year and it is again only a contract for the Internet portion. The TV and home phone services do not require a contract. They also offer home security and cell services too, but more information will come for that later.
- That next step is to go to the website and sign up for the services that they offer that you are interested in.

- This will allow WCFiber to have your contact information and it is what will determine if they move forward.
- Sign up if you are interested even if you have a current contract that you are under that may prevent you from getting it immediately.
- We are in a race with a couple other neighborhoods to get their services and speed of the sign up is important.
- They are about ready to start as soon as we reach the required number to make it cost effective for them to come in the neighborhood.

- You received a pricing and options list in your mailbox, but it is also on our website too.

Fiber Internet for the Neighborhood

Western Carolina Telephone in Abbeville is looking to expand into Greenwood in localized spots. The survey is to determine if we can get enough interest to pursue this for our neighborhood. They will offer Internet with a 2 year or 3 year contract to recover the costs to run it through the neighborhood. They will also offer television and home phone, but it does not require a contract according to discussions with the Western Carolina Tel. project leader.
This would mean faster Internet downloads and uploads using the fiber. They have the ability to offer Gigabit speed download and upload should we need it. They also host Netflix servers onsite, so that means the lag times for loading and playing movies should be at a minimum. Streaming should be faster.
This could be a property value enhancer, too, since most of Greenwood will not have access to fiber Internet speeds. This could make us a limited neighborhood in Greenwood to have this level of service.

Reporting Street Light Outages

Tree Removal

No trees measuring 6 inches or more in diameter at a distance of 4 feet tall may be removed without written approval from the association / ARB unless the tree is within 10 feet of your home. See Sections 3.5 and 10.2 in our Covenants & Restrictions.
Light on St. Augustine

The association is aware of the light out on St. Augustine, and we are working with the utility to resolve the issue.
Lighting Issue

The current lighting issue is due to a “factory defect” in the first set of lamps. Duke is aware of the problem, and they will be installing replacements for the ones that are no longer coming on. The issue should be resolved the week of June 8. Replacements of the older lights is still ongoing.
Mailbox Set 4 of 4

Construction of mailbox set 4 of 4 is complete, and installation is tentatively set for the following 7-10 days, pending weather.
New Street Lamps

The street lamps in the neighborhood will be updated by Duke Energy over the course of the next two weeks. Temporary power outages could occur but are not expected.
Mailbox Set 4 of 4

The final set of 21 mailboxes are currently under construction and will be installed within the new few weeks, pending weather. This set makes a total of 96 mailboxes, all built by hand (thank you for bearing with us as we complete this long-needed project). For any questions or concerns, please contact us.

Mailbox Set 3 of 4 Under Construction

The third set of mailboxes are currently under construction. They are, tentatively, set for installation after the 14th of April.
Second Wave of Mailbox Installs

A female black and white “tuxedo” cat that was lost from Mathis Rd. may have been spotted in our neighborhood. She may possibly have a purple nylon collar. If you have any information about a stray cat matching this description, please contact us. Thank you!
Mailbox Update
